can anyone recoment a App that runs on Android … but working sort of Homewave (iOS) ?

i want to make a Wall Mounted Tablet as sort of “control panel” … so getting a iPad is dure to the price out of the question.

but a 35USD 7" Tablet makes this things quite interesting… but all the apps i have seen are very basic or require too much interaction …
if i have to press 100 buttons and swipe to 5 screen, its faster to walk to the switch :wink:

i just want a app autostarts with the device and displays immideatly a screen with what i really want to see …

Homewave for iOS does exactly this (thats why i bought it for myself and my wife)
anyone seen something semilar for android ?

There is nothing. The only thing that comes close is irule and it will cost you. I believe it is also limited to what it can control from vera. You can always use AutHomationHD and use the favorites section to get you by.

yeah, i was afraid already of sort of answer like this …

guess that is what separates the both communities (noticed that in quite a number of other situations/scenarios) …
i just dont see any point “remote controlling” the house if its take longer than just walking to the switch.
and to be entirely honest, there is nothing more easy as just to flip a switch too :wink:

i planning already on another aproach by simply installing a webserver on the tablet and displaying a website to interact with the vera.

not 100% decided yet …

AutHomationHD is the closest bet (for a plan-b)
Imperihome tested and dumped really quickly … but it does look like its got some great potential …

i solved this problem with installing UtilServer (small footprint http/php server)
and made a bootstrap based web UI …
shellapp in autostart opens the page and all done :wink:

its actually quite “buggy”
i mean in matters of the code …

i ust read the vera “sdata” poke it in an array and then have a large loop extracting the data…
well somethings like this

so in short … the html is hardcoded (by this way i can move things arround like i want it and not like a software want it to be)
and i can have custom actions on each button.

downside … the code is not nice at all !!

i also have integrated the Harmony remote, my mikrotik router so the SYSTEM button turns bright red if somethings not working with my VPN’s or the Internet connections …
and so on and so on :wink:

i’m happy to help out … its not a exclusive thing, but not running with 5 clicks …
