Question for the UK folk (but I suppose other euro versions can chime in as the capabilities should be the same). Does anyone know if either of these send a status update when the on/off button locally is used?
Anyone…?
have a everspring 158/2 … when its polled it gets a status update… so i guess what u wanna know is if it give a direct response to the webpage ? answer is it gets polled then so it would have the status which the device is in at that moment. my everspring sends updates directly when something got changed and can be used as master slave and has energy usage report which reports every 30 secs (preset… can be 10 secs minimum) . i think u can set an alert to notify when the status get changed of some variable of the device. would go for an everspring as it works flawlessly and has more functions
I have both and have just experimented. Judging by the delay in status change on Vera control panel I’d say neither sends an update when the manual switch is operated. Update to Vera appears to come via the next poll.
Everspring can switch higher currents but HomePro is fine for lights etc.
Thanks racarter, that’s exactly what I was after. They won’t be switching big loads, but it would have been nice to get instant status updates when using local control. If the price of the Fibaro relays was closer to the price of the appliance modules I’d probably go for those and create some sort of blue peter module ![]()
My everspring (14 in all) give instant status update when the on/off button locally is used on Vera2 and Veralite
Yes, the Fibaro devices are great. I find Everspring stuff a little flakey sometimes - and their so-called Z-Wave smoke detector is a disgrace - but the Fibaro kit is rock-solid.
fibaro devices are nice but they too had ther major faults in the beginning at launch… read forums over there… far from rocksolid… but now it is fast catching up and the product seems to mature fast pace … i bought some and waiting for the delivery. can you explain what is not right about this smokedetector ?
The Everyspring smoke detector only wakes up on power-up and when the tamper operates. It only reports if the battery is low or smoke is detected, but at no other time. In other words, you have no indication as to whether the device is on the network or not. If it loses comms you will never get to find out.
In my view this device is not fit for purpose. I have spoken to Everspring about this, but they just said that wake-up is not supported. Totally unhelpful.
Yes, I’m aware that Fibaro had some early problems but my Fibaro devices (purchased this year) operate flawlessly. ![]()
a nice work ![]()
thnx , this is valuable info for me
it would be nice if the forum got splitt into devices and scenes n scripting for every section
for example
cameras and videosurvailance > devices
>scenes n scripting
Is it the module I refer to (AN148) or some other?
the an158/2 has wattage reading and euro 230v connector but it does the same as the an148/3 which is uk version plug and dont have wattage meter in it.
I would need a UK socket unfortunately…
it has the same z-wave module , just the plug/voltage is different. so it will do the same speaking to your vera as my an158 does… they have a uk version of this as well… an158/3
you ask for UK … UK it is …
i found you a better substitute
look over here to order http://www.domotica-shop.nl/AN157-3-wall-plug-UK-p-16300.html
it seems this is what u need to have the desire forfilled
Is it the module I refer to (AN148) or some other?
Some AN148 and some AN157 which I presume is a new model.
Cheers Da_JoJo and pncarrerars, I just hadn’t realised how many different (same) products Everspring make: http://www.everspringindustry.com/Archive/Products/Z-Wave_090817.pdf
The AN148 and AN157 seem to be exactly the same, the AN158 adds the powermetering to it. And indeed they should be available all in a UK format. Good stuff!
no problem ![]()
this devices are expensive and like me you probably want to buy something that actually does what it advertises and is of use to the purpose yuou where getting it for.
Absolutely. I have my garage full with stuff that seemed ok at first, but turned out to be not great when actually in use… With zwave I am finally carefully considering each and every device before I buy it. It’s going to be a long term relationship! ![]()
yu since its gonna cost some , i also read the forum about user experiences and youtube is great for real-life produkt demo’s … things getting better evryday and besides that dreaming about making the whole house remote controlled the way one likes is cool , but this can actually become reality now and turn into the usual dissapointments one experience due to the believe in nice propaganda of the media.
