Im trying to get a home manageables hm-ts001 to trigger my trane t-stat remotely. i want it to basically replace the temp sensor on the trane. i thought i had seen a post about this somewhere before with some code in it but now cant seem to find anything ive been searching the forum for 4 hrs.
i would really like to be able to use the adjustable setpoints in the hm-ts001 as the trigger set points so that i can adjust them without haveing to go into scenes and change the setpoints in the scene.
I would be interested in a solution as well. My father would like to do the same thing. He wants to be able to have a temp sensor setup in their bedroom to have it adjust the trane thermostat when needed. If there is a solution or some kind of guidance to doing this, I would be very happy to hear them out.
You can have the temp sensor switch the thermostat between Run and ESM by associating the temp sensor to it. The temp sensor I believe sends an On/Off in regards to the setpoint and the thermostat responsds to On/Off but I do not believe you will be able to kick on the Heat/Cool or change setpoints on the thermostat directly. You would need Vera for that.
that sounds like what im looking to do but how do you associate it to the thermostat?
What i did was create a scene that if the temp goes below 70 degrees to trigger a heat command for the thermostat.
yeah i did that too, but then every time you want to change the trigger temperature you have to log on to a computer and go in and edit the scene. I want to be able to use the on/off trigger built into the sensor to just trigger the thermostat on/off and then i can set the actual set point on the thermostat really hi like when you use a scene.
The main purpose is so that i dont have to edit a scene and use a computer since i want to be able to give it to guest in a guest bedroom and they can adjust the temp right from the sensor.
It seems like all the parts are in place just not the programing or implementation.
Even if i dont have to use vera to do this that would also be fine.
