I have an industrial oven I need to monitor. Temperature ranges ambient to 325F
I use this conventional temperature controller http://www.automationdirect.com/adc/Shopping/Catalog/Process_Control_-a-_Measurement/Temperature_-z-_Process_Controllers/1-z-16_DIN_Size_(SL4848_Series)/SL4848-RR
which as RS -485 input/output
(application manual http://www.automationdirect.com/static/manuals/solocontrolm/solocontrolm.pdf)
Any good ideas on how to monitor the oven with Vera?
Best option is a conventional temp sensors for z-wave or One Wire but they don’t go high enough (80-125F typical) as far as I can find.
I can buy a PLC with ethernet that ties into the temp controller but cost is getting to $200-$400 and I still have to write some software.
I see a lot of RS485 to ethernet converters but then I still have to write software. (i.e., http://www.neteon.net/products/rs-422-485-to-ethernet/nport-5130a.html)
