[ol][li]Only use alphanumeric text since UI7 and further versions don’t support many non-alpha characters.[/li]
[li]Name your scenes so that they are easy to interpret. Short and concise.
Example: Living Room Lights OFF
I like to use all capitals for the action.[/li]
[li]Name the scene for what it does and only make the scene do that.
Example: Living Room Lights OFF should only turn off the living room lights and nothing else. If you want more, then create a scene that does more like:
All Lights OFF[/li]
[li]From there on out, do not put triggers to “turn off the living room lights” anywhere but in that scene.[/li][/ol]
These four simple rules will keep you out of trouble. I personally have made many mistakes along the way and realized that making Magic Scene That Does All Things Good ends up being hard to decipher later. If you name your scenes this way, you will likely have less scenes and less headache figuring them out if something goes wrong.
