Help with Vera 2 running 1.1.1245 to Vera 3

I have searched extensively and found multiple issues and stories concerning how to upgrade. I have a brief window of opportunity (3 hours) to get this to work. Understand that this is in a rental condo and things have been going smoothly. I am concerned about doing this, but I do want to do it.

Here is what I am thinking that I have to do once I get into the condo:

  1. Backup a copy before doing anything
  2. upgrade vera2 (1.1.1245) to the UI5 version (1.5.408)
  3. backup a copy after the upgrade
  4. restore the backup onto the Vera3

Does this sound right???

I have 2 schlage door locks. Will this backup/restore work with them? I read somewhere that it would not because of security.

Thanks…I actually have that one printed to take with me.

Do you know if there is anything special that I will have to do for the Schlage locks??

@bennynations: When you upgrade the Vera 2 to Ui5 and then save the back-up, and restore it on the Vera 3 unit (restore z-wave network must be checked), and make sure you change the z-wave port correctly if it doesn’t do it automatically, to /dev/ttyS0 instead of /dev/tts/1 . That is all you need to do.

I just did this upgrade over the weekend. My Schlage and Kwikset locks all transferred just fine. There was no re-programming needed.
