HELP : WATCH TV SCENE ( LIGHTS AT NIGHT ONLY )

Here is what i want to do .

I’m trying to set up a scene to watch tv / movie .

What i want is when i run the scene it turns on my TV , AVR , PVR and it switches the input whatever i want . which i already did . also to turn on the side lights but i want the lights part to be executed only at night , any luck with that without using PLEG ? cause it’ll be pretty complicated to do this with PLEG

I will take a stab at this since it is on my list of things to do also:

I added the day or night plugin, the virtual on/off switches plugin, and the combination switch plugin. The day or night is self explanatory.

For the virtual switches I created 3 of those since I wanted a gaming mode (ps3, xbox, etc), watching tv mode, and a music mode. I created 3 scenes to turn on the devices I needed in each mode and to turn the inputs etc correctly. Each scene also toggled the corresponding virtual switch: TV mode on for watching tv Gaming Mode on for gaming, etc…that same scene also turned off the other 2 virtual switches. This way I always had a way to monitor which mode I was currently in. If all you are doing is watching tv you only need the one virtual switch for TV. I did all of this under the advanced tab in the scenes BTW, I didnt pick or choose any devices on the devices tab.

THis is the part I havent tested yet, but I have setup:

Now that all that is done, all you need is one last scene to turn the lights on that you want triggered by the combination switch: use the combination switch with 2 items…1 for daytime status with day or night is night and another with switch power status on your TV virtual switch is on. Set the combo switch to turn on when 2 or more watched items are true.

I’m sure there are better ways of doing this, but this is similar to the way it was done in Homeseer which is what I am moving from and am familiar with the most.

Thanks a lot man , this worked perfectly , a lot of scenes and switches to add though and i only added ( WATCH A MOVIE ) scene , still yet to add music and TV . but it’s perfect .

There should be a better way to do this , i agree , but this works for now
