My Veralite system has been running without any problems for almost 2 years now. Yesterday, for no apparent reason and having made no changes to the system, the Vera refuses to communicate with any Z-wave devices. The UI appears fine (UI5), just the little dots that show “successful z-wave command” never go green. On startup, the scrolling display gets stuck at “configuring Z-wave devices”. I tried a “Repair Z-wave network” to no effect. It acts like perhaps the Z-wave chip inside Vera has died. I don’t really know where to begin to troubleshoot. Any ideas ??
Start by looking at the log file and see if there is anything that jumps out as related to this.
Contact Vera technical support.
As a last resort, I would try restoring from a backup from a few nights earlier when Vera was known to be working.
How do I access the log file? (dumb question, I know, but I’ve never had occasion nor the need to do this.

Did you try to POWER CYCLE Vera ?
The Z-Wave chip might need a hard reset.

I’ve been having to do this every few weeks with mine.
Oddly enough, the Hue plugin and other non-Z-Wave things work fine. So it about has to be related to the z-wave module.
Yes, I did try power-cycling the Vera. First thing I thought of… When I get home today I’m going to try power-cycling the house main breaker to see if perhaps it’s a Z-wave device that’s hung up somehow. I’ll also take a look at the log file as per above suggestion. Thanks.
Got Vera up and running again by doing a full restore from backup including Z-wave. Thanks to all.
