I recently installed Veraalerts and made some changes to my scenes. Suddenly I realized that this message “Error in lua for scenes and events” appeared at the top of my desktop. I tried to undo every change that I made and even uninstalled then reinstalled veraalerts without success. I have a fairly large script that I use to shut off my AC under certain conditions. I reloaded the script that worked flawlessly in the past and even tested the lua script in the developers tab. I can’t find any apparent error in my scenes and events even when “I think” that I am back to the same configuration as before this started.
My last resort is to load a backup from 3 days or more ago and see if it still appears. If not, I will try to redo the changes, step by step watching for this to occur again.
Too bad answer take so long to come via this resource or I would wait for some sage advice.
Reloaded backup from 3 days ago. My initial version of Vera Alerts was loaded then but I redid the changes and no error message at this time. I guess that is the easy way out for dummies!
There are problems if you use a single or double quote in a notification name.
I will fix this with the end of the year release.
