OK, so my Vera2 came today with no instructions. I plugged it into my Linksys wireless router and the power, and the 3 lights came on (Power, Zwave and Eth1).
I signed up and Mios.com, and it says it see’s one device on my network controlled by someone else (with another user’s name in there). I went thru the wizard here: http://micasaverde.com/vera2 and it sees my Vera. Originally, when I tried to connect there, it asked for a username and pass - which I don’t have.
So I thought, OK, I will factory reset and that will clear this issue. So I found the wiki item on this (here: http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Factory_Reset), and tried both black buttons, and the reset button on my Vera.
No dice, and the MiOS site still see’s it as controlled by someone else. I can ping the IP, but can’t telnet to it.
Not sure what to do now - please help? Any suggestions here? How do I just reset the username and pass, or wipe this guy out altogether?!?
Thanks in advance for your support!
Why don’t you try:
username: root
password:
I’m not sure that will work, but it is worth a shot. Hopefully someone with a bit more experience with vera will post.
You can also just connect to vera directly without going through cp.mios.com by:
http://<your vera’s ip address>
You should be able to get that from your router.
I’ve been playing around with my vera for a couple of days now. I think you will really like it once you get it set up. Incidentally, I was in Radio Shack today and asked about a Trane z-wave thermostat. No stores around here had any, but a store in Colorado did so they are mailing it here. Catalog #61-228, item $3888273. That catalog is what the store will use to look them up. $49.99 after the $10 off coupon from the Schlage Camera thread here.
Good luck!

@Re:
Thanks for the suggestion. This Vera was used on eBay, so someone already set it up. The Root login with the wifi pass on the vera doesn’t work
I think I need to reset, but I can’t find a post on how to do it.
Thanks
I believe that wiki entry is for a vera 1 which was basically a asus wl520.
It looks like the procedure is pretty close though, you need to press the reset button twice:
http://docs2.mios.com/doc.php?language=1&manual=1&platform=2&page=reset_factory_defaults
You might try flashing the firmware:
