We are moving to new home and planning to do the home security.
I want home security like monitoring(may be alarmrelay.com) and calling me & Cops when required. Please suggest me whether i can install the below by myself.

After reading the forums found that i need to buy the below items

If you want to have the alarm panel interface with Vera you will need a eyezon 2ds card. You will most likely want this either way as you can use the eyezon monitoring service for the fraction of the price that alarmrelay wants.

Can you please suggest the right eyezon 2ds card which works for dsc-power-1832 and also can i install and do the DSC setup by myself.

Go to eyez-on.com. You are after 2DS. It is connected to the keybus by 4 wires, the same as a keypad. You can connect it yourself but if you have a
Monitored system remember to context then before doing so. Once it is connected to the panel, you the use network cable to connect it to your home network.

@Garrett … the old guy has a question … above you mention Envisalerts … is this only for phone or do they have an alarm service too?? Tried to check there site and google but could not find a ‘service’.

Finding info on the service is not easy. From what I gather they are a full monitoring service that you can pay for at a fraction of the price. Same as like adt and so on. Were they will notify you and the proper authorities. They offer a free service were you can be notified by text or email.

I never used alarmrelay (although wanting to originally) so I cant really make a comparison other than cost is the same!

I cant fault the service so far from the envisalink service; I’ve been having some issues with my wireless sensors recently with a few supervisory faults, and even an alarm, and the response time from the monitoring service has been really fast!

One is the vendor website (eyez-on.com), so probably shows MSRP. They’re the same device.

You can either get a Power 1616, Power 1832 or Power 1864 based kit.

1832 seems to be the most popular, but it all depends on how many zones and partitions you end up wanting to install?

Other than the 2DS, you wont need anything else (other than maybe some hard wired zone switches and alarm wire etc) if you buy a “kit”

If you’re planning on using wireless stuff, I found that the PC1832 kit (that is recommended on the DSC plug-in page) is a good value.

Note that the 1864 will do 64 zones, but only 32 can be wireless.
