HELP ME PLEASE: Problem with my network and have tried everything.

Hi everyone,

I’ve had my system now for a while and the first time I set things up they worked fine with a bit of trial and error, my issue however is as follows.

I have tried to reset my vera2 unit and have removed my devices from the dashboard in MiOS. However, I am now trying to re-add all the devices back to the vera2 and with no avail they are not adding. This is getting terribly frustrating as I have been trying to do this for a few hours. I have gone to the forums and checked the common solutions as to exclude and include the devices again, and assuming it is succesful based on the quick intermittent flashing on the zwave light on the unit. Nothing appears as to be added when I go through the wizard and nothing appears on the dashboard. Is there a way to completely wipe the unit and devices to start fresh? I believe I have done this as I have restored the unit through the Advanced options. Please help me. I only have 6 devices in my network. A Kwikset Door Lock, 3 Intermatic Homesettings light dimmer switches and/or appliance switches, and 2 Levitron RF+ dimmable 600w light switches. They were all functional before. The problem started when I tried to pair another controller to the units, then noticing that my vera2 wouldn’t respond to the devices. I didn’t know that you had to add the second controller as the secondary. Please help me get this back up and running. What am I doing wrong. Thanks.

Hi

A few quick questions…

Are you using UI4 or UI5 on your Vera 2?
Which firmware are you using?

What other controller?

On the dashboard, you should see “Removed unknown node…” or “Removed node XXX” when the exclude is successful.

Did you take Vera to each of the devices, or are you doing it from a distance?

I also would try the exclusion with the Dashboard open and look for the messages @PurdueGuy mentioned. This will give you a sense of whether Vera and the devices are seeing each other.

You can wipe all Z-Wave devices known to Vera, from Vera, by doing a [tt]Reset Z-Wave network[/tt] ([tt]Setup[/tt] > [tt]Z-Wave Settings[/tt] > [tt]Advanced[/tt]). You’d still have to reset the devices individually, if possible, or do the exclusion though, before being able to include them again.
