I am having problems with the schlage door lock keypad. I have tried to set up timed events to have the locks opened and closed at certain times to coincide with our needs (using this at a church). It seems that sometimes it is not working (or could it be that people are manually changing the lock - if so does that screw up the timed event?)
Not sure if this is any help but, I have a timed event on my aquarium lights that turns them on at 7:30 and off a little later and if I turn them on using the button on the module then they stay on (The timer doesn’t turn them back off). Vera sees that they are already on when its time to turn them on and skips the whole event. Maybe someone is unlocking the Schlage and when its time for your event to unlock it, it sees it unlocked already and skips the whole event. Just a thought though.
I believe you are correct, if someone manually interacts with a device the “After x minutes” actions get canceled. I believe MCV considers this a feature.
I can’t confirm that, but it’s funny that that would be considered a feature, but if you set a timed scene that returns to previous setting based on unlocking the door from the keypad, and you unlock twice in a row, you return to the new setting…
I had to create a luup scene that checks that the light is below 20% before turning it on, waiting 3 minutes and returning to the previous setting… to avoid that nuisance…
Hi,
You can set two scenes for your scenario. One to run some commands at a certain time and the other to run other commands. Indeed, when you physically interact with the device which is setup in a scene “after x minutes”, that action is recorded and the scene is canceled. Now let’s be honest… you set scenes like this mostly because you don’t want to leave things turned off or on. If you manually changed that state, what’s the point of the scene?
In my scenario, I’m not interacting with the switch manually. I’m running the scene a second time during the 5 minute wait to return to previous setting. So, the light stays on. i want the light to only come on for 5 minutes if I walk in the door and it’s dark. If my girfriend walks in a minute or two behind me, the first scene gets cancelled, and the light stays on for good.
I guess this could be corrected - so that if a scene runs a second time, it’s not handled as manual interaction with the switch. That would actually be a welcomed addition, now that I think about it.
I have set up several scenes to lock my Schlage just in case the grandkids unlock it. In fact, it’s way too easy to inadvertently touch the buttons and lock or unlock the thing by accident. I usually check the status of all my devices before I go to bed but just to be sure, I send a “Lock” command to it as part of my “Goodnight” scene that turns most everything off for the night.
