HELP I just installed the DSC Plugin with EVL-3 and PC1832

Hi

I need help, I just installed the EVL-3 to my home alarm system and I fell I am missing something. Hook it up add IP address and etc done. Please arm in the section to allow remote arming and etc. I have the PC1832, IT-230 and the Netgear ASG1000, apparently the ASG1000 works in the same manner as the EVL-3 but controlled by IControl. I need the system to move the zones over so I can see them (only see zone 1 and etc) control them in scenes. I know I am missing something in the setup any ideas or even point me into one of the 600 pages that I read?

I have the 6 zones and the Partition 1 on my system, will that ever change to my zones programmed in my alarm system?

Thanks

If you meant the Zone Labels then no they wont update in Vera from what maybe programmed in the panel (EVL3 limitation). The only way to do this is to label them manually in Vera to match.

If you have more than 6 zones set up, then you need to configure the corresponding numbers in the plugin. For instance it by default will only show zones 1-6, however if you have more zones than that they wont show. Also if you only have <6 zones, but they are numbered with something starting from 7 etc, then the plugin wont see these unless you match the correct zone numbers.

The instructions here DSC Alarm Panel

I am away from an idiot box but I am thinking your asking about arming and disarming via a Scene? If so, look at the advance section

@strangely the EVL4 is suppose to support Zone Labels

@Briantim… Finally :slight_smile:

Hopefully its integrated with the same command structure that it was in the IT100, and then perhaps it will work natively with the plugin.

If so then this may be worth an upgrade for me since I’m going to be adding a bunch of new zones soon (flood sensors and upstairs windows)

I haven’t look any further into the details but it will integrate using PClink for programming

Some of the major highlights are:

  • 100BaseT Ethernet
  • 128 Zones for Honeywell Panels
  • Downloading for DSC panels using either DLS2002 or DLS5
  • Hooks for upcoming GSM backup module
  • Faster everything (firmware downloads, command responses, webserver etc)
  • It’s blue

The DLS download will be a great feature. I hate dragging out a USB adapter and cable and pluggin into it!

Thanks very much for all of your support and just my luck, I purchased the EVL-3 this week and not a mention of the EVL-4. I have started running the labels in Vera, lots of typing 30+ sensors.
Thanks again,
Tim

Hi Again,
Thank for the help in getting started I have the zones setup and the IP address I the Vera plugin but it doesn’t do anything at all. I can arm(I place the word arm as per the plug in). I must be missing something the Evl-3 can arm and disarm but the plugin can’t. Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed.

So after you choose EVL on that screen
-reload LUUP
-Go to the DSC Alarm notifications page and enter the IP of the EVL
-Now all the zones are setup

I Believe you got this far
-no go to the partition advanced settings, enter the IP for EVL there too

That last step I never needed to do before, just recently set this all up again and things in DSC plugin setup seems to have changed a little.
