help adding door sensors (2gig dw20r) to vera lite

Hi, somewhat of a newbie here, I’m trying to build my vera sercurity and received a few 2gig dw20r door sensors. The vera system doesn’t seem to be sensing the door sensors when I ask it to “add device” in my dashboad. I’ve tried new batteries, and google searching for adding these devices yields nothing. Can someone please help? Nothing I do seems to activate these door sensors yet they say they speak zwave. Thanks so much,

So Vera doesn’t find the device when you try to include it?

Could you be detailed about what’s going on?

Sure, the sensors are the 2gig dw20r-345 recessed type. I went into the micasa dashboard for my veralite and clicked to “devices–> add device–> then the first option to add a new zwave device then option 1” Sitting next to my vera light, the box enters discovery mode, orange light flashs. I have the device within a few feet of the box and wait for it to discover it. I don’t know if I need to have the magnet portion of the sensor connected to it or if it should be away from the sensor—i’ve tried both ways. Any more specific details needed? Thanks so much.

It keeps saying no devices found

So, do these automatically go into include mode when you put the battery in, or is there an include button? I am obviously not familiar with them.

If they automatically go into include mode with new batteries, you may have to remove them an then reinsert them immediately after you put vera into Include mode:

  1. remove batteries and wait some time
  2. put vera into include mode
  3. install batteries.

Is dw20r even Z-wave compatible?
