Heatmiser Neo thermostat

Hi,
I am looking for some guidance / help / teamwork on developing a plugin for the heatmiser neo stats. I have the api and they are accessed via IP and commands are in JSON.

If I initially want to only read the temperature back from themm sending a basic one line command and receiving back the results to display and make available for datayours to log , and maybe whether it is calling for heat how do I start? I am looking to start small as am new to Vera and Lua/Luup but if anyone else is who has these and is interesting in developing to a full plugin I am keen on teamwork. I have some programming experience but not for Vera.

Out of interest did you have any joy, I’d be interested in this myself to keep an eye on and maybe control the four zones I have at home.

Did you have a look at racarters Heatmiser Wifi plugin? From memory, the Neo is very similar to the Wifi’s but without the direct access… Just see http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,8870.0.html
