How do you all deal with the modes of your thermostats?

For the summer, i’ve setup my Vera’s Home mode to set my thermostat to COOL and to set a minimum temperature. That way the HVAC comes on and cools the house when i’m home. For Away, it sets the thermostat OFF. It’s worked great… But things are cooling off now and soon i’ll need the opposite. For it to put the thermostat in HEAT mode and to warm the house. But my VeraEdge doesn’t seem to support AUTO so what to do? I’m sure the answer isn’t to reprogram your home and night modes everytime the seasons change?

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction…

You could use PLEG plus thermostat temperatures to decide what mode to put it in. You might also include an ambient outside temperature in your logic.

Simple example, if thermostat off and home mode entered, then if <72 set Heat else set Cool?
