I know that the scheduled nightly Heal shows no relative signal strength information in the results. But I’ve had occasion to do some manual Heals and noticed something that strikes me as strange.
If I do a full heal, with or without configuring devices, I do get relative signal strength information in the report. Some devices show 5 stars, others less of course. The signal results seem to have minimal relationship to the distance between Vera and the devices. Some devices further away have better strength than devices close by. But if I pick one of the devices with say 2 stars and rerun a heal on that device alone it will return a 5 star result. This seems to be consistent throughout my network.
If I run a system heal I usually get about half the devices at 2 to 3 stars. I then do an individual heal on each of those devices and the lowest I get is 4 stars and that is always the Kwikset Lock on the front door, right next to 4 GE/Jasco switches with 5 star results.
I guess the point is how meaningful and accurate is the result of all of this? For the most part my network operates well, just the occasional glitch do clearly there is enough signal to get the job done. But I’m puzzled by the disparity in the results of the heal runs and the reason for it.
