When logging on to my cp.mios account I get errors. I’m trying to log onto the account tab so that I can receive alerts on my phone however when I click on the account tab I get the following errors.
“Unable to connect and retrieve data, please try again later. If the situation persist, please check your internet settings.”
or
“I cannot connect to the internet. Please be sure the WAN port is connected to your network and click ‘try again’.”
Yet when I go to devices I can turn them on/off with no issues.
It sounds like Vera is unable to communicate with teh internet. I would suggest that you try power cycling your Vera. If it still doesn’t work, go to Setup → Net & Wi-fi → Troubleshoot network and see what that report tells you.
I have had veralite setup for several weeks with no issues. All of the sudden, my phone app can’t login to vera and when I click on the account tab in veralite I get the same error as mentioned above:
Unable to connect and retrieve data, please try again later. If the situation persist, please check your internet settings.
I am still able to look at my devices and enable/disable them.
When I login from cp.mios it takes me to the UI but then pops up with that login message above. When I click on the firmware tab, it says Fail on all the firmware server info. This was working fine.
I clicked the failsafe tunnels check box and then it pops up with a box saying command failed and automatically unchecks the box.
yep, unplugged it several times. Last week I had my basic cable modem swapped out with a new arris modem (time warner) which has a firewall and router built in. The cable guy plugged it into the wan port of my Linksys router. It seemed like everything has been working fine but I had not tried to use the login feature within the VeraUI. Logging in to the UI worked fine. The orange light is turning off on my veralite so that I only have a blue light and a green light (on solid). I can ping the vera internet ip and the internal lan ip so it is on my local network. I read on this forum that vera tries to SSH to the servers. Maybe my cable company is blocking the ssh port? I disabled the firewall so its not the firewall. I pulled the Linksys router out of the loop and plugged vera straight into my cable cable modem. Maybe this is a “vera is a gateway” or “vera is a switch” problem? I can’t enable the tech support since it seems that needs to communicate with the servers too. So, I can’t get the password to ssh/winscp to the vera directly.
Ok, made some progress. Last week I had installed a 32 GB cruzer fit usb drive to work with dataMine. I formatted it in windows and automatically mounted it in the datamine config window. Its been working fine all week saving data. I removed the usb drive for the heck of it and rebooted. It booted up and now the firmware tab shows its communicating with the sever, I was able to click the tech support button and get the password. It seems the usb drive was keeping the system from booting up. I reinstalled the usb drive and rebooted. It immediately failed again with all the messages mentioned in my previous post.
With the usb drive removed I still was not able to login from the account tab, I got the same error mentioned in previous post. However, from cp.mios.org I was able to login and it logged into my UI correctly and showed my username in the upper right corner (instead of login).
With dataMine I was only recording a few temps so not a lot of data.
I am happy for now. Its not the router/cable modem/network/etc.
dataMine was missing /dataMine in the advanced settings so it was mounting the usb drive over the root partition. When I reset vera, it could not see all the system files because the usb drive was mounting over them. 1.5 days wasted with this so adding lots of detail so others don’t need to waste so much time.
