Handle and deadbolt combo

We are moving in a few weeks and am excited to finally take the time and add some automation to the house. I have purchased a Schlage handle lock and am thinking about the deadbolt on the door. It’s in an odd place (very high) so our son will not be able to reach it. We could either leave it unlocked all the time or add a zwave compatible deadbolt.

I suppose it’s overkill but there would be added security with the deadbolt.

Is it possible to have the code from the handle lock automatically unlock the deadbolt or am I just asking for trouble?

It’s possible and rather easy. You make a scene which unlocks the deadbolt and the trigger is your son’s pin being entered.
