HAI Thermostat with a Vera and a Z-Wave Home Theater Remote-45608

I have my HAI thermostat working with my Vera, and I purchased a GE/Jasco Z-Wave Home Theater Remote-45608. Does anyone have any experience with this remote and any thermostat working with Vera? It appears the remote wants to be the primary controller, it won’t let me add the thermostat to the network manually. is there a trick to controlling the thermostat using vera and the remote? I called Jasco and they are clueless

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Bill

Hi bill, I have this remote and it works great, but I am NOT using it with a thermostat
The remote CAN be a secondary controller, go into Z-Wave setup of the remote, then go to TRANSFER, then select RECIEVE

Once you do this, go to Vera and “Add Z-Wave controller” this copies the info and makes the 45608 secondary

hi bill,

i am using the ge remote, but only to control lights. to get the lights to work from the remote, i program scenes into vera, like “turn light on”, another scene for “turn light off”, then i go to the zwave scene functions and scene 1, for example, turns a particular light off or on based on whether the particular scene was activated or deactived with the remote. perhaps there’s an easier way to do it but it works. you might try setting some things up with the thermostat as scenes and tying them to the remote this way. once you’ve set up the scene, you do the transfer thingy again and the new scenes will be transferred to the remote.
