HA Bridge / Alexa / Vera / Insteon

I’ve basically given up on the Alsteon thing here but still have my USB PLM. I did order an Insteon Hub and have the FanLincs working (in theory as they show they’re working but I haven’t installed them in any fans yet) with the Insteon Alexa Skill. I have Vera being controlled pretty well with the Beta 2 Alexa Skill as well…

I was investigating HA Bridge finally and come to see that it controls X10 devices with the X10CM11 serial interface so it got me to thinking…

Can I set this up with Vera Plus and HA Bridge to control the FanLincs as X10 Devices thereby ditching both the Insteon Hub and PLM in favor of an X10CM11?

Will this integrate well into Alexa outside of Amazon’s Cloud Servers or am I not understanding HA Bridge functionality?

This is as far as I’ve gotten and realize I have more research to do but am looking to see if this {has been
] / {can be} done…

Moderators: I’m not sure where to post this as it is a connected object and an Insteon thing but since Alexa will be used to tie all this together with HA Bridge, this seamed the best place to post. If not, move the post.

TIA

I’ve never had an issue getting Altsteon working with Plus, even now. USB PLM. You have to piecemeal some code and fixes from ALL Altsteon forums, I got it to work. Can share code with you later on, not home. I use Insteon dimmers etc but mainly leak sensors. I have them now linked through Stringify. Try that method also.

As it is now, if a leak is detected by Insteon Hub(NOT PLM), it’s sent to cloud, send to Stringify, sent to Smartthings and a notification is sent to me and actions taken. I don’t believe Vera has a Stringify partnership yet, but you may want to check that out.

HA Bridge needs the Amazon cloud to decode your voice command. All it does is emulate a Hue device. To control it, the voice goes to Amazon, Amazon says to the Echo: "turn on a specific Hue bulb", and the HA Bridge behaves like the Hue bulb yet provides a back end to do something else. In your case that could be the X10CM11 (which I'm not familiar with).

Do you care to elaborate how you are doing it? I went through all the posts down in the Alsteon Section to no avail. Thanks.
