hello !
I saw a fibaro demonstration (home center2) and it has a curious resource…
when you approximate of your home a previous number of meters…fibaro runs a scene…
I think my GPS coordinate is sended to the system by one app…
is possible make similar thing with vera 3 ?
thanks…
Not without 3rd party software or hardware. Software wise, you can use Tasker or Llama for Android to interface with homebuddy or my app in a future release. Hardware, you can look into rfid.
A Google Latitude plugin for Vera might be a good way to accomplish this as well:
Google Developers Product Index (retrieve current location)
Google Developers Product Index (what data is included in current location)
Documentación de Google Maps Platform | Distance Matrix API | Google Developers (calculating distance between locations)

On a related note, it’s ideas like this make me hope that MCV has a good collection of “defensive patents” in their portfolio.
Lawsuit from Fibaro in … 3… 2… 1…
It’s sounds like a crime ???
I’m only thinking about to exist one app what send my actual position to my account in micasaverde.com and up to date my vera3…
only this…
sorry if it is not possible by patent required questions.
I’m currently working on a proximity plugin, (http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,12093.0.html) even though i have never coded anything in my life - and so I’m doing my research on what is possible, desirable when it comes to determining your position and how to use Vera to do something with it.
My current goal is around an ‘anti-lost’ solution, car, children, pets etc. and I’m currently looking at the transciever ranges of Vera’s own zwave aerial and also the RFXCOM RFXrtx, which obviously vary considering the location of your device.
GPS is an interesting option, as there are some GSM/GPS Trackers that notify you of their location at regular intervals.
Anyway, if anyone reading this is interested in this area and have ideas to contribute to my proximity sensor thread (above) I would really welcome all input/ideas.
