Getting Schlage Deadbolt Notifications

I resently bought and installed a Schlage FE599 and a VeraLite. I succesfully paired the VeraLite and the lock, and I’m able to open and close the lock remotely, as well as, programming new pin codes and restrictions. But notifications are not working. When I look at the alerts and try to read the Alert (by pressing the envelope icon), I get the following message:

“Unable to retrieve data, please try again later. If the situation persist, please check your internet settings.”

I’m guessing both problems are related (not getting notifications and not being able to read alerts). I don’t know what I need to do. Please help.

Further information.
When I troubleshoot the Net & Wifi, this is the result:

Did you find any solution? I have very similar problem.

config: Vera3 + Schlage FE599, newly installed. Vera3 connected to the local network, on AC power, and physically located 2feet from the door lock. (Currently, there are NO other items connected to the Vera3, except the Schlage lock.)

The lock paired OK (first try). I can lock/unlock the Schlage remotely, and program new pin codes which work promptly and appropriately.

If I go to MY ALERTS, on the dashboard, I can see all of the notifications and alerts (I think**) being triggered appropriately. However, if I try to “read alert” by clicking on the envelop icon, I get the same error message as original poster: “Unable to retrieve data, please try again later. If the situation persist, please check your internet settings.”. (**Since clicking the “read alert” icon doesn’t work, I can’t verify what each alert/notification is about, so it is hard to know for sure that all of the notifications/alerts are going through, but the numbers of alerts/notifications seems appropriate/as expected.) Interestingly, for the items which have a “View Notification” icon in the MY ALERTS section of the Dashboard, if I click on that icon, I can see the notification. (It is not clear to me why all of the items don’t have the “view notification” icon, although they all have the “read alert” icon?)

I can Poll the Schlage lock with no problem. I have full internet connectivity through the dashboard, and my Vera is listed in the dashboard with the appropriate ID and IP address on my local network.
(And all of the notification/alert settings were SAVED.) notifications.mios.com

A second problem is that while all of the “MY ALERTS” are supposed to be sent to me via email, I am mot consistently getting these emails. Intermittently I have not received email notification for “badPinCode” or “door is opened”, and sometimes the emails are delayed 45minutes. It seems some emails come from noreplyxx@notifications.mios.com which are prompt and others come from noreplyxx@notifiy.mios.com which can be quite delayed…

Any help appreciated.

Jim

The Vera Alerts plugin helps to work around the deficiencies of MCV standard alerts.

Got the Vera Alerts Plug-in, and it does work reliably for all notifications (unlike the Vera native notifications which didn’t work so well for some things?). Thanks!

I’m having trouble with my FE599 as well! I got it to pair but was unable to get it to accept door codes. I actually set my system up before I installed the lock at my new condo. So after I was done I boxed it all up disconnected the unit and took the batteries out. It has been boxed up for over two days yet I have not received even a low battery warning. In fact the system is still showing 100% battery and the door is locked and secure. Am I missing something?

Thanks,

David

Turns out it won’t let me add codes in the “Simple UI” but it works in the “Advanced Settings”. It doesn’t look like it can be done thourgh the mobile app either. Looks like I have a solution at least.

The data you are showing for the lock is stale, without batteries in the lock it will not tell vera battery state or lock state has changed. I would assume that you have a polling or configuration blue or red dot showing failure to communicate if you attempt to unlock the via the vera button.
