I activated the geofencing feature and set my home location with radius of 100m.
I set that if noone is at home to switch to away mode.
I am out of this range, but the mode doesn’t change to Away.
My wife also have the mobile app, but she is also out of range. Does she have to do something?
The short answer is that Vera’s geofencing does not work if you have more than 1 person using it and those 2 people have different schedules.
Vera put the options in UI7 months ago and it has never worked correctly. You can search for more posts here with details on what works and what does not.
There are 3rd party alternatives that will work.

I agree with Jamr, the built in geofence is no good and is limited to only one person.
I use “Vera proximity” on andriod and “Vera Mate” on apples.
There is also other options like ping sensor when you on your home wifi, and Apple has a “Iphone locator plugin”.
Let us know what devices your trying to track and we can point you in the right direction. And more then one option is best for reliability.
Thank you for your answers.
We are both using Android devices. I appreciate any clues what to use to achieve the geofencing idea.
This thing is really not worked out. It constantly pushes notifications that I leave/enter the geofence area when I am at home. And to be worse, you can’t delete the area unless you enter another one.
Vera Proximity works great, but you need to create some logic in your Vera to make it all work they way you want. I have two posts at the end of that thread that explain how I set my logic up.
I was forced to delete the MobileVera app. With the geofence it got crazy spamming with notiffications when I am at home, showing me that I leave/enter. Really really annoying.
I will give ImperiHome a try and check the Vera Proximity app.

I use ImperiHome, but since this is a Geofence thread I should point out just incase that ImperiHome doesn’t have GEOfencing in the app.
Well that explains why my mode is never changing at all from the “night” mode I set it to when I go to sleep.
What a real pain in the ass - what is the point of having a feature that just doesn’t work? Its not rocket science, is it?
I’m a one person, one device situation.
VeraPlus controler, and the iOS “Vera” app. Thats all it identifies itself as: Vera, so I don’t know if that is iVera (which its not called) or some other app. Not having an internal “about” screen doesn’t help.
Geofence is a good 200m… but it never changes mode… .despite iOS geolocation settings indicating the “Vera” app does have a geofence running.
SO given that the Vera/Micasaverde app just doesn’t work… whats a reasonable way to have the app/or another app change to home/away as I come and go?
Having it go to Home once the phone moves would work to detect when I get up, and geofencing should determine the home/away transitions…

Not a perfect solution avaiable for iphones due to closed nature of ios. But I would say Apple Locator plugin probley the best solution. Next would be a geofence app on your phone like vera mate.

Have anyone tried contacting VERA Support, on how to fix the ‘geofencing’ feature?
Yes you can and for geofencing on ios that is probley the best solution but the iphone locator has better results and some battery options to slow polling further away from your target. Not many option with vera mate.
