GE zwave outlet - replacing with GPF outlet

I have a question about an outlet I have in the kitchen. I want to replace an outlet with the GE z wave outlet. I was getting ready to swap it out and noticed a sticker saying this outlet is protected by GPF. I am assuming that only means the GPF switch in the kitchen is protecting the outlet. Just want to confirm it is ok to swap it out with the GE zwave outlet.

Thanks

Scott

Does the outlet in question stop working when you trip (test) the GFI outlet that supposedly feeds it? And the outlet in question is definitely not a GFI itself? If yes to both, then it should be okay to swap your regular outlet with a Z-wave receptacle, as long as the Z-wave receptacle matches or exceeds the amperage of the circuit.

Thanks kkl. Swapped it out tonight and it works great. Thanks again!

Glad to hear it worked for you.

Excellent! Assuming you found the GFCI outlet that protects it and tested to see if it works, as @kkl suggested?
