GE dimmers - GE remote

I set up four ge dimmers on my system with no problem. Then I linked up a ge remote (45601) as a scene controller, which I was able to get to work. While messing around with the remote I linked it up with two new dimmers (directly between the dimmers and the ge remote). When I tried to link the vera unit to the new dimmers the vera unit didn’t recognize them. Do I need to reset the dimmers in some way? If so, how do I do it? Any help would be appreciated. Everything was going well until I started playing with the remote (ge 45601). Thanks

Hi yes you will have to unpair them to work with Vera

Got it. I had to set the vera unit to unlearn each of the units, then relearn them. Thanks

Out of curiosity, When the switches are paired with the vera, can you also pair them to the ge remote that is setup as a secondary controller? Or does the ge remote only function as a scene control when paired with the vera unit?

I’ve not be able to pair the remote as a secondary controller. Only a scene controller. But I wil try it again now that I got the other dimmers recognized.

The GE remotes work fine as secondary controllers with Vera as primary, or they can be used as primary as well if Vera is secondary. You can exclude the remote in Vera and then reset the controller, and re-add it to Vera.

How does one pair the GE remote as a secondary controller? When I paired the remote, it shows up in vera as a scene controller. I would like to be able to get the remote to act like a secondary controller as well as control scenes. Is this possible? Are the steps to include it with vera different then what is posted in the wiki page?

If it shows up in Vera as a Scene Controller you have it set as a Secondary Controller. Just add whatever lights you want using the directions in the manual. Vera just displays it that way, it does not mean that is all it can do.
