GE 46513 3Way Kit - Unable to disable LED

The search Gods have failed me, and I think I know the answer, but I wanted to post to this forum just in case.

I’ve recently installed the GE 3 Way dimmer kit, but unlike all my other Jasco switches and outlets, I am unable to disable the LED indicator by setting Param 3 to 2.

Every time I do, I get a :Failed to set user configuration error". I’ve confirmed that 0 and 1 do work.

Is this just an undocumented feature, (the included instructions still show 2 as an option) or is there another trick to get this to work?

Thanks in advance, Erik

Parameter 3, 1 byte hex, value 2

If it doesn’t work, as you describe, I’d think a defective switch.

i have alot of ge switches and outlets. i didnt even know u could turn it off completely. my instructions say only to reverse it. is this a new feature? msybe older switches dont support it and u got an old batch 3way?

I have a GE (Jasco) fan stitch #12730. The blue light can be toggled (on W/on off/W/off). Using 3 for off causes an error message as above. I called there support number and didn’t get any help at all. The person I talked with seemed to be reading the manual. I don’t think that there was any knowledge beyond what ever was on there screen.

Yeah, I feared from some of the searching I’d done that this was an old batch. It came in the old blister pack and the primary doesn’t require a neutral which were other signs. I don’t think it’s defective because the other parameters do work. I don’t suppose these are FW upgradeable?

Not that I know of, but I buy all mine local from Lowes for a cheaper then ebay or amazon price… They now have the new style with the green and black boxes vs. the clear plastic like you probley got. Thing is if you buy a new one from lowes, and come home and decide you don’t like it, you can return it to the not so bright people at the counter.

Just be careful and don’t get confused on which was the new firmware and which was the old firmware or you might accidentally return the one that doesn’t have that LED OFF option. ;D
