I have a H/T scene that calls for -1- GE Duplex outlet, -1- GE Appliance Module and -1- Leviton VRI06-1L Vizia RF + 600w Dimmer.
When I run the scene in Dashboard, it works correctly, yet, when I run the ‘scene’ from the GE #45601 LCD Remote, all GE devices work but the Leviton VRI06-1L Vizia RF + 600w Dimmer, doesn’t.
Will the GE #45601 remote control the Leviton VRI06-1L Vizia RF + 600w Dimmer?
I have been looking at the GE #45608 Home Theater Remote, because it will run Z-Wave and IR devices and if it will run scenes and my audio videio equiptment, I won’t need to buy a IR Blaster, but if this H/T Remote won’t control Leviton devices either, I have a problem !

Yes, it will.
Oti, Thanks for your reply,
but can you elaborate just a little more on why my “scene”, won’t run from the GE #45601 remote, like it does from the Dashboard?
I entered the number of the scene I wanted to control into the GE remote and assigned it to a button, so it is getting some of the infromation from Vera but not all of it (the Leviton dimmer)
Thanks for your help
Not sure from your description how you configured things, but if you have set up an event in the scene that you are talking about to trigger on, say, scene button 4 on the remote, then it should just work without doing any else (assuming you hit Save).
Once that is working, re-add the remote to Vera, so she actually transfers the scene over to the remote. After that, you can (still) run the scene by hitting the On button. But you can now also turn off the devices in that scene, by hitting the Off button.
I just tried this for 2 VRI06’s and the 45601; no GE devices in the mix though.
Oti;
I see where I missed an item. I haven’t re-associated the remote back to Vera since I assigned the scene to a button on the remote. I thought since the scene had been created in Vera, all I had to do was tell Vera (via the remote’s assigned button) “Run this numbered scene”. Which does work, it’s just that the Leviton dimmer only works from the Dashboard, not the remotes scene
Odd note, I can now see the “scene instruction” in the remote controller #1’s instruction, Last night it wasn’t in there
Followed the instructions - However:
CH+ turns device ON
CH- DOES NOT!!!
Is this the ONLY way to have the GE remote as secondary controller? There got to be a more elegant way…Any idea ?? Thanks for anyone sharing their experience with this.
Actually there is a wiki link the page creator needs to be given credit. Great instructions. I think I’m missing something here
-
Create a scene in Vera (Where a scene is hooked to a SINGLE command - either ON or OFF but not both)
-
Vera transfers scene to Remote Ok.
-
Remote CH+ turns it ON
-
How in the world is CH- supposed to turn it off when the scene itself have no information about this??? So this part is not making any sense to me…need some input on this. Thanks.

I don’t have this device, but did you try assigning the device to a key, directly with the remote; so no Vera? That should work.
The other way is to define the scene with Vera and then re-include the remote.
4. How in the world is CH- supposed to turn it off when the scene itself have no information about this??? So this part is not making any sense to me....need some input on this. Thanks.Because that's built-in functionality of the remote (at least the other GE's). Whatever you tell it to turn on with CH+, it will turn off with CH-. It's not a separate scene.
The second method might be preferable, because it keeps Vera in sync with the device status. To make the [tt]off[/tt] work you have to re-include the remote though, so that the scene is transfered to the remote and it knows what devices to switch off when you hit CH-.
Thanks oTi@
So I removed the remote from Vera again completely and went through the steps again and now this time it’s working - really strange - The first time also it was working but simply wont turn it off. Not sure the difference.
One possibility is that the scene did not transfer properly when you did it the first time. For [tt]on[/tt] this doesn’t matter, for [tt]off[/tt] it does.
