GE 3 Way Dimmers and On/OFF - Auxiliary Switch On Does not register in Dashboard

I had an electrician install multiple GE 3 way dimmers and On/Off switches (45613 and 45614) throughout the house. He stated he followed the instructions listed in the manuals.

I am having trouble executing an Event when the Auxiliary Switch (slave) is turned on and would like to inquire whether I am missing something. The Event correctly executes the Scene when the Primary Switch is turned on.

The Scene is to turn off a light 30 minutes after it is turned on.
The Event is “Garage Light” - A Device is Turned On or Off - Mode “On”
The Command is “Garage Light” On - after 30 minutes - Off.

When I turn On the Primary Switch, the light correctly turns off after 30 minutes. This does not occur when I turn On the light from the Auxiliary Switch.

When I turn On the Primary Switch

  1. Light goes on and blue LED turns off on the Primary Switch
  2. In the Dashboard - “Garage Light” Switches to ON
  3. After 30 minutes, the light goes off

When I turn On the Auxiliary Switch

  1. Light goes on and blue LED turns off on the Primary Switch
  2. In the Dashboard - “Garage Light” DOES NOT Switch to ON, it remains on OFF
  3. After 30 minutes, the light REMAINS ON

Is there a reason why the Vera2 (UI4) is not receiving the signal that the light has been turned On when the Auxiliary Switch was used?

This is important because in the garage the Auxiliary switch was located by the entry door to the house. The Primary was located on the other side of the garage.

I have replicated this issue at many other 3 way switches in the house.

Sorry if this was already discussed. I did a search and did not find a similar question. Thank you in advance!

In theory, using the Aux switch sends a signal to the primary to toggle. It should behave exactly the same as physically switching the primary. There is no z-wave inside the Aux. Sounds like you might want to try a ‘heal’ to you network to update the nodes & neighbors. I have several of these in use as well and the Aux difinitely fires the scene.

Thank you very much for the quick reply. It is good to know that the Auxiliary Switch is capable of firing the scene.

I ran another Heal test just to make sure everything was updated. There were no reported issues, everything was fine. Unfortunately, it did not solve the problem. I will keep playing with the system.

Thank you again.
