I bought a dry contact switch from amazon to use to control my garage door thru Z wave. So when I paired it it popped up as a light. I was wondering how can I configure it to show up as security icon and in that category? Also I press on and it stays on until I press off. Is there a way in the device configurations where anytime it is clicked it will turn on then a second later turn off? without having to create a scene for it. Below is the device I bought from Amazon. Thank you!
Reading that post, you cannot do this without creating a scene or programming something that handles the pressing the button twice to turn it on and off.

There is presently no way to change the icon in Vera. There is however, a Garage Door plugin from RichardTSchaefer that combines a switch, like the Remotec, with a door sensor into a single device that appears to be a lock(security class) in Vera.
The Remotec does have a “failsafe” configuration option, see the thread and the manual. It can be configured to automatically turn the switch On or Off after a specified period between 0 and 240 minutes. You cannot set it to turn off after a second, but you can configure it to turn off after 1 minute, which I recommend.
My recommendation is to use a scene that detects the Remotec’s activation as a trigger and which immediately turns the Remotec back off. I also recommend configuring the previously mentioned failsafe as well, just in case the scene does not run for some reason.
I read the trend and that left me more confused lol I am getting a window sensor so hopefully that Garage door app will work like a charm. Thanks again
