I have a question, I have an external garage door opener, I frequently change the access code as I have vacation rentals, Is there a way/zwave device that I could use remotely change the codes similar to a zwave door lock so I would not have to do it manually. I?m not concerned about opening or closing the garage door.
I guess an issue would be how does that code change get updated in the garage opener? any thoughts
Same use case for me. I’m interested in this as well.
I know it’s not a great solution, but right now I just give them the code for the front door and leave the remote in the house so that they can use that while they’re there.
Yep, I do the same
Not ideal, but how about a door lock mounted to something that, when unlocked, would send a garage door command. It would have a pin code that could be changed.
I’m imagining a Schlage unmotorized deadbolt mounted through a fence post or wall and the deadbolt isn’t even installed or visible.
I invision a zwave remote keypad and a interface with the garage door opener, you then would be able to add, remove pincodes to the keypad…
