Been having the usual Vera woes the last few weeks, random restarts, PLEG not saving etc etc
I’ve removed lots of stuff, simplified code etc but nothing worked.
I restored an earlier version… nothing.
So I put a ticket in to support.
Then thought while I wait for an answer why not just update the firmware to the latest, you never know… might fix it?
Well no. It’s wiped my Zwave network and it will not restore at all.
So really I’m back to readding all the devices.
PLEG deletes all the triggers etc and is a mess, so really the easiest way is to start again as a new controller.
This wil mean a hell of alot of work on Tasker too fixing my UI and voice commands.
the WAF will not be good when she gets home!
You should always be able to get back to a fixed point from a Vera backup make sure you check restore z-wave when you restore to restore your z-wave device configuration.
Tried it Richard, restored the backup over 10 times, picked random backups from over the last few weeks/months. tried just ticking the restore Zwave network box etc just incase.
Not a single Zwave device would return 
I was worried that maybe my zwave chip was fried during the firmware update but I’m able to add devices again now.

I had this same problem recently and it turned out to be my vera lite was running out of memory.
Have you ssh’d into your vera and checked the memory?
I ended up putting a ticket in to MCV and they managed to free up some room and then the backup restored fully.
Since doing a complete factory restore all the issues that originally were there are a distant memory.
PLEG works fine, its been easy to get changes to stick.
Was just a real shame I needed to rebuild my entire zwave network.
I went down the road of just starting again from scratch as that meant I could streamline some stuff rather than trying to add the network back to the restored version of the rest.
