Front Gate Control

Hi

I would like to control the front gate using Vera. There would need to be a keypad at the gate, which could integrate with Vera (via ethernet cabled LAN), which could actuate the gate motor.

Is anyone aware of whether this can be done?

You help much appreciated!

I think it would be an option to control your gate motor with a window/shutter controller like the ones from fibaro:

Then you could mount some normal local switches to control the gate directly at the front and wouldn’t have to wire back a control panel by lan. Another option for the control pad would be the new one from poly control:

… or install a Squeezebox Boom or Radio at the gate and use the six preset buttons for access control (would require Logitech Media Server and a custom Luup plugin that could be based on the the [tt]SPB[/tt] plugin). :slight_smile:
