foscam motion sensor doesn't bypass

I’m using the foscam 8910 and have the motion sensor working just fine. However, no matter if it is in arm or bypass mode, it stays armed. It will trigger a scene, the little green guy turns red…

How can I actually bypass this? What am I missing?

Thanks!!

by reading the other post in the forum perhaps

No. I don’t think that other thread answers my question.
It doesn’t matter whether it’s by scene control or if I directly press ‘bypass’ in the web interface. Motion control does not deactivate.
argh

Depends what you mean by “Armed”. Read on…

It will trigger a scene,

Only if you have created the scene with the event “A sensor is tripped”. To prevent the scene from firing while the sensor is bypassed, the trigger must use the event “An armed sensor is tripped”.

the little green guy turns red...

That is normal. Icon state === Tripped. Icon state !== Tripped && Armed.

I think that the bit you are missing is that bypassing does not prevent the sensor from detecting movement. It just provides a user-settable binary switch that can affect scenes that use the “Armed sensor is tripped” event. That’s ALL bypassing does.

Hmm. Okay. It seems a teeny bit convoluted but I’ll see if I can make something work.
So, even though “bypass” is set in the motion sensor, the motion sensor when tripped will show the green guy turning red.
It seems that it would make more sense if the arm/bypass switch acted like a true on/off switch.
eh, what do I know.

THANK YOU!! That worked!
Silly (idiot) me. using the “sensor door is tripped” rather than “armed sensor”
yeeha.

thanks!

hence my note to read the other topics… door open sets icon to tripped , door closed to not-tripped and the arm/disarm is to enable/disable the alarm sensor itself. it will allways show wheter the reed-contact is opened or closed. this is how it functions and how it works properly as sensor.
