Foscam Cameras appear to be working fine trigger 'Devices No Longer Connected' ?

Running UI7

I’ve got a dozen or so cameras that I’ve been running for years w/o issue. I realized I can add them to my VeraLite which will help me to view adjustments quicker than opening up another program to see all my cameras. I added them via the snapshot method and I get a snapshot to show up just fine. When I’m on the dashboard I see the areas along with the cams and everything seems like it’s functioning fine however at the I get the ‘red sad house icon’ and the message that ‘2 Devices Are No Longer Connected’ and when I click this it takes me to another screen that shows the two cameras and a red bar for each that says ‘Can’t Detect Device’ and I can’t seem to figure out what is causing this. Under Advanced Settings I tried to change the value for CommFailure to 0 but still the same results. A quick search doesn’t seem to yield the answer I’m looking for so if this has been discussed a link with the solution would be helpful.

Can someone help me out here?

Thanks!

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Plenty of Foscam setup questions already answered on here. And it more so depends on which model you have. Search for that model and you might have better luck.

Your other problem is going to be ui7 with foscams, I’m not sure that current status. As so many things still broken on ui7 it could your problems might not be in the setup but more the foscam model and UI your running. Also Are you using BI with these Foscams by any chance? Also each camera added to Vera uses up atleast 2MB of RAM, feed is delayed and is only updated every few seconds so its jumpy and not like viewing from an actual webcam viewer.

A search seems to show its a ui7 problem. Seems like there might be a work around tho in the first and 3rd link here seems some people got it to work for the most part.

The problem is I have four different models and I’m seeing it on the two different models that I’ve added so it’s not model specific. I am using BI on my pain PC but not the plugin on my Vera. I realize the feed is delayed and I also realize what you’re saying about jumpy but I’m not expecting super smooth video anyway. In fact, I used the snapshot url method so it’s actually just a snapshot of the video that’s refreshed every often because I don’t need real-time video. I submitted a help ticket to micasaverde since they no longer have chat as an option that I can find but have yet to hear back. That’s why I posted here in hopes that someone might have my solution since I’m not getting much response from tech support.

Have you tried the BI plugin? Not only does it fix this problem but also allows you to add a motion sensor in vera too.

I will look into these when I get some more time.

I did not because I was under the impression that it, like most plugins currently, wouldn’t work with UI7. I looked over it briefly but everything I found about it was UI5 so it lead me to believe that it was a waste of time to continue reading about it.

I think with the first and 3rd link you should be able to get something working, but If not in the BI unofficial plugin thread there was atleast one that had a camera setup and working in ui7. He just had problems creating another device from the same plugin. I thought ui7 didn’t have that option at the time (not sure if that’s changed) or he just didn’t know how to do it. But if you think you can get around that hurdle then I think BI plugin would work in ui7.

Like I said in my other post I’m not sure what (if anything) I did but as of right now things are working fine. The only change I made was going into one of the cameras a couple of days ago and adding the camera make/model information to the advanced settings. At first it didn’t appear to have any affect and even hours later it still looked like nothing had changed. Then, mysteriously, sometime yesterday the little red house icon at the top of my dashboard was green and said everything was fine. The cameras themselves also don’t show error messages. I’m still not sure what changed but everything seems to be working so I guess I’ll just hope it doesn’t revert as quickly as it fixed itself.
