I have read through all of the postings about issues with the Fortrezz WWA-02 and other than programming manually (which I would be new to), I am stumped. I have followed all of the advice on the boards to get this device to connect (it was initially connected FINE, and then I removed it and now it ONLY shows up as “_Generic IO” on the Vera User Interface.
-I have manually removed the device both using the button on the VeraLite AND using the interface to accomplish the removal
-I have added it back multiple times, and it appears as “Generic IO”
-I have manually awoken the device and initiated a configuration (which appears to complete)
-I have left the sensor alone after initial pairing overnight (14 hours)
Nothing seems to work
Has anyone else has these issues and gotten this sensor to work to display temperature AND alarm state? Are there any “cleanup” activities that I can perform to ensure that the device is fully unpaired and there is are no residual conflicts preventing proper configuration?
Is there a BETTER leak/water/flood sensor out there that is more reliable?

I have two of these devices and initially I had some problems with them. My problems ended up being Zwave signal related and once I resolved that they have functioned very well.
From your description it sounds a bit like the device configuration is not completing properly. Mine have never exhibited the behavior you describe, so I am guessing a bit.
When you add the device, do the ‘Model’, ‘Manufacturer’, and ‘Configured at’ fields populate on the Settings tab?
Also, what is the ‘Configured’ variable set to on the Advanced tab? What is the Device_File field populated with? What is the Device_Type field populated with?
My WWA-02’s battery finally died and it was tough to find a reasonably priced replacement for the “1/2 AA” 3.6v Lithium battery, but I just put a new battery in mine and it reported in no problem, not even requiring a button press. If you can measure the battery voltage to make sure it’s good, then perhaps report the problem to the vendor?

Hello,
The information you requested is:
SETTINGS:
Manufacturer: Fortrezz
Model: Blank
Configured at: This has the date I last configured the unit
ADVANCED:
Configured: 1
Device File: D_GenericIO1.xml
Device Type: urn:schemas-micasaverde-com:device:GenericIO:1
I have tried multiple attempts at configuration (configure, then re awaken the device, configure again) with no luck.
Is there a manual way to setup this sensor (based on the information requested - I think you may be right that configuration isn’t completing or completing properly…
FYI - I am configuring this device with it RIGHT NEXT TO the VeraLite (so signal shouldn’t be an issue, correct?

Maybe if you set the Device File and Device Type to the values mine use it will correct it? Might be worth a shot.
As a test I changed my settings to what you had listed, did a Save and after the luup restart the device wanted to do a configuration. I manually woke the device up and it reconfigured to the correct settings.
FYI. When I did my initial setup of these I configured them right next to the Vera, then later I moved them to their permanent location and did a Network Heal (Manually waking them up at the appropriate time).
When Vera adds a battery-operated device, she seems to always automatically want to wait for a wake-up after reloading the engine, even though the device may still be awake. So it typically requires a second push (or pushes) of a button on the device to get Vera to ‘move on’.
It appears this second step did not complete. Try moving the WWA-02 closer, if not already done. Also, I believe there’s something about the button, i.e. it distinguishes between short and long presses etc.

Worked like a charm! Thank you very much!
