Fortrezz SSA2: Failed to go into learn mode

Hi

I’m trying to integrate Fortrezz SSA2 Siren & Alarm module into my Vera 2. I’m getting the following message and not able to add it to the network.

Add/Remove:
Add new devices now…
Failed to go into learn mode. Retrying…Node found. Add new devices now…

I have followed the following steps.

Connected Battery and then power to Siren

Noticed 4 Fast Blinks in the Siren

Vera2 into Include Mode

Click the Program Button behind the Siren

I have also tried clicking the program button multiple times which did not work as well.

Please let me know if I’m missing anything.

Thanks

Did you try to do an exclude and they do an include?

Yes I did exclude and then include aswell

Thanks

This is more of an issue with Vera / Z-Wave than the SSA2.
Try a reboot of Vera and try to include again. 4 fast blinks from the SSA2 = not included in a network.

JOD.

Hi JOD

I tried rebooting the device by removing the power off and then on.

I still see the issue. I was able to add a door sensor after that.

Thanks

Have you checked the frequency of the device? US vs Euro? depending on where you are…

JOD.

Yes. At the bottom, the box for US was ticked.

Thanks

Ok, another thought. Are you trying to include at a distance?

Try taking the device to Vera and including it…

JOD.

Try associating another module if you can, if Vera also fails to go into learn mode, you should immediately contact support, This happened to me on Vera1 and I had to reset my network, exclude each module, the re-add them all. It’s not fun

I associated a Hawking Door Sensor after that and it works perfectly fine. Tried again the Siren and got the same message.

I filed a ticket and update once i hear from MCV.

Thanks

You seem to have switched the Z-Wave from primary to secondary, that’s why you’re not able to add new devices. Did you try to add another controller in your z-wave network?
Unfortunately the only way to make it primary again is to reset your z-wave network, which will remove all devices from your Dashboard and you will have to exclude and re-include them.

If you can wait a couple of days we will release a new firmware and you should be able to switch it back to primary without removing all your devices. You can read more about this here and if you decide not to wait for the new firmware you should reset your network.

Please keep in mind that this is not officially possible, which means that in most of the cases it will work, but there can be a few exceptions.

So it’s your fault @barath!! :stuck_out_tongue:
That sure is interesting information that you SHOULD be able to switch roles back to Primary.
Are you going to wait?

JOD.

:-(( I never tried add any additional controller.

Yes. I’m going to wait for the firmware upgrade. Otherwise i need to remove and add all the devices in the network which is a pain to do, esp. those door sensors.

Out of curiosity, do you have any other controllers, hand held, remotes etc…?

JOD.

Nope. I’m not sure how it went to secondary controller mode.

Thanks
