is there a smoke Detector able to detect steam or fog ?

i was thinking on automating the Kitchen Hood …
but only if there is “somethings in the air”

any ideas ?
or can someone recoment me a smoke sensor can measure slight temperature changes in short time periods ? (i think that maybe does the trick as well)

what about using a NetAtmo http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,16276 You can then use the CO2 sensor or the temperature sensor to trigger what you need.

not want to run a weather station, i just want to turn on the Fan in the kitchen hood if my wife is cooking :wink:

I have a Kobe range insert that does that automatically. … maybe humidity sensor?
