Flickering Problem

Hi everybody ,

I just find your forum before few hours and I believe that I will visit this forum for long time because of his powerful threads and highly experienced members .

Before anything thank you guys for your efforts .

My problem I installed 30 LED’s [[OSRAM Gu10 230V AC]] with 53DIM030 dimmer but the LED spot lights keep flickering even at high level dimming ( 70% or 80% ) I have a 230 V AC power source .

I read in your forum that I have to add a dummy load for this circuit R=230*230/25 , is this right ?

Can anybody clarify this issue more , I mean why we don’t take into consideration the number of LED’s in the circuit since the number of the LED’s will affect the amount of the capacitance in the circuit and so the variation of the voltage .

If you are trying to use an incandescent only dimmer (aka the dimmer does not require neutral wire) with LED only bulbs… it is very hard to overcome the flickering. Even with a LED ready dimmer you might end up with flickering in specific ranges (but much less likely).

Best fix is to put the right kind of dimmer in there.
