On my AV Gear tab, my two Directv added boxes show a button I have not seen before. It looks like a remote control. When you activate this button a new window opens to black. The IE tab says Flash remote control editor. It does not nothing. Does anybody know what this is?

A remote that doesn’t work 
Its a work in progress at the moment. Like all AV devices, you’ll soon be able to use this for controlling your AV gear.
I actually managed to get it to work for an IR device last week, but it now seems to be broken again, and either something server side changed, or the new Firmware broke it.

I believe it External Phone Apps. Now a simple test I did was I used the a couple iPhone App.

I actually had it working in the dashboard on my PC.
I also had it working as I described using the work around. The mobile phone apps as I previously mentioned also used the AV gear tab to install their interface and this then appears that you have installed a remote. It is a bit misleading and the names do not give an indication of what they are.

its sorta basic but it works as remote for the time being that the new to come IR-UI is finished… its server-side that needs an ip and such which it doesnt have… no point in putting it in the link, doesnt work yet. probably the next firmware it will be fully integrated… there is still a lot of work to do for the programmers… patience is key

The flashtool doesn’t work on my computer (win7). I tried chrome, Firefox and Explorer with the newest version of flashplayer.
When will the remote control editor work?
