Firmware 862: Panasonic Camera not working...

Panasonic camera was automatically detected when the luup plugin was installed and the device is showing up correctly in the dashboard. However, there is no image when you click on"View Camera". Just a broken link icon.

I am using all of the standard MCV specified settings and accounts for the camera. Was working fine in 6XX firmware… using 862 now.

I can view the still camera image fine when using a standard web browser using the MCV login credentials at:

http://CAMERA.IP.HERE/SnapshotJPEG?Resolution=320x240&Quality=Standard

(the URL specified by vera)

BUT… the image still just shows a broken link from within vera.

Just curious:

(1) Have you tried giving Vera the “Snapshot” path both with and without a leading slash / character?

(2) Similarly, both with and without the trailing parameters, beginning with the question mark ? character?

Just tried:

/SnapshotJPEG?Resolution=320x240&Quality=Standard

SnapshotJPEG?Resolution=320x240&Quality=Standard

/SnapshotJPEG

SnapshotJPEG

no dice… however all of these URLs will result in an image in the standard web browser… strange.

Also… the correct default login is displayed in vera… and I am using the same credentials in the web browser with no difficulty. Seems like a real bug…

Now just grasping at straws:

  1. How/where is your IP camera’s Ethernet cable plugged in? Your main router, or one of Vera’s LAN ports?

  2. If not one of Vera’s LAN ports, is Vera’s “Firewall” set to “No Firewall” under ADVANCED > Net & Wi-Fi?

Just wondering now whether Vera’s blocked somehow from accessing a fellow device on your home network, while your PC might be allowed to see it because it hangs off the same router.

Camera is wireless connected to my main router (netgear). Veras firewall is set to no firewall.

Sorry none of my theories panned out. Let us know how things turn out with this issue, esp. if you submit a Tech Support ticket.

This is the URL connected to the broken link… looks like this may be doing more internally than I think…

http://192.168.1.101/port_49451/data_request?id=cam_image&Device_Num=60&rand=1250473517736&parameters=get_video_frame

Same setup. No camera control after .862.

I can see the camera when I click “Show Full Size”.

But cannot see the thumbnail, or pan the camera anymore. Ticket being submitted.

CORRECTION

I can see the camera image, both full screen and thumbnail. It takes a while to load (shows broken image for a bit, then image pops in).

However, I cannot pan the camera anymore.

MCV Support logged into my Vera and fixed the camera issue. They removed the camera and added it back in vera and it seems to be working. Something in the upgrade to .862 rendered the panasonic unusable.

Still cannot control the camera from the “View Full Size” screen, but they assured me it will be fixed in the next release.

I added a Schlage lock a few of days ago after my lighting control had stabilized. A couple of days back I added a Panasonic BL-C111A and Vera found it with no problem. I can get to the camera locally and remotely with one exception. I don’t seems to be able to use the Pan/Till/Zoom functions thru Vera although everything works thru the Panasonic software. I was running .899 till today but I am upgrading it as I type this so we’ll see.

Now on firmware 980, still no image for 2 months now… ideas?

So I went to the advanced properties in the camera devices menu and input the IP address of the camera… now it shows me an image. If the camera was automatically detected by vera why did I have enter an ip address manually? Is this part of the setup process? Tried that a few months ago under 862 and it didnt work then…

Anyone else have panasonic cams and can comment on what they had to do to make them work?
