Final advice on UI7 compatibility for UI5 plugins?

Hi,

I’m trying to make changes to the Ecobee plugin so that it behaves as well as possible under UI7, and I’m trying to find the most concise guidance available for what needs to be addressed. I am aware of icon changes to .json files and loss of control over the UI layout, but I never heard the final explanation for how to fit the two heat and cool setpoints that worked so well in UI5, into UI7. How does AutoChangeover mode work if the underlying device has two setpoints, but UI7 only supports one setpoint? Or is UI7 still broken? Was this issue ever finally resolved properly in UI7 to not lose functionality? If so, specifically how?

I only have limited time to make this change and can spend none of it guessing, reverse-engineering anything or continuing to sift through the forum and outdated wiki for clues. I no longer rely on Vera myself, and I’m only making these changes to the Ecobee plugin to leave it in a working state for UI5 and UI7 users. If the current state of UI7 documentation remains unusable towards this result, then I will have to leave the plugin in its current state and move on.

Thanks for any helpful information you can provide.

Same question regarding the Honeywell Z-Wave thermostat (YTH8320ZW1007) in auto mode. Need both heat and cool setpoints.

Thanks.
