Filename already used?

I am starting to work on getting my Altsteon stuff put on the marketplace to make it a bit less painful to install. When I uploaded a few files, I accidently put them in the wrong role. There didn’t seem to be a way to change the role once it was uploaded, so I figured I could delete them and add them again later. Problem is, once I have deleted them, any attempts to upload a new version results in a “Filename already used.” error.

Anybody else seen this? Any suggestions how to work around it? (Other than renaming the file. :wink:

Try to revert to a previous version before deleting the files. If you can’t do this then the files entry will have to be manually deleted from the DB.

If we’re lucky, this week there will be some development done for apps.mios.com to fix some of the big usability issues. Fingers crossed. :slight_smile:

Hi mcvflorin -

Unfortunately, it was an initial import so there was nothing to revert to, and I have already done it. Is there anyone that I can contact about getting the database fixed up so I can import these other files?

Also, is mantis the location to file bugs for apps.mios? Or is there are different one? It seems that not being able to redefine a file’s role is a bug. I realize that in general you wouldn’t do that, but if you fat finger something (or are just not paying attention) you are out of luck.

I will talk to someone to get the files entries removed from the database.

Did you manage to get someone to look in to this? I attempted to re-upload the files last night and was still getting the same error.

I did, and I thought he deleted the files. I’ll make sure he deletes them today.

The files have been removed from the DB. Please confirm that you are able to upload the files.

I tried to upload D_InsteonEzFlora.xml and it is still telling me that the filename already exists.

Would it help if I could give you a list of the filenames that I am having problems with?

I just ran through the list of files I had previously had problems with. It looks like D_InsteonEzFlora.xml is the only one that I can’t upload. All the others seem to have gotten cleared out correctly.

This is a really ridiculous problem which should be fixed fast!I took a day of in the hope of being able to finish my xbmc plugin, now I am fooling around with problems like this. I know it’s not hard to get around this problem, but it is stupid that such a problem even exists.

Can you reset the file I_XBMC.xml in the xbmc plugin I am working on so that I can re-uplaod this file?

I’ll put some pressure to get this fixed this week. Meanwhile I asked the DB admin to delete that file.

What project did you look at? I see lots of bugs / feature requests from 2012, in various states.

BTW, this has not been fixed nor has my file been removed from the database! I still can’t upload the file “I_XBMC.xml”.

The bug hasn’t be fixed yet. It was supposed to get fixed last week, but an urgent task forced the bug fixing task to be pushed this week.

I thought the file was removed. I’ll make sure that it gets removed today, or tomorrow at the latest.
