I’m glad you said you’re deleting the ‘child’ device. I couldn’t find a use for it, I tried connecting an external switch to TMP, Sens and Alarm - nothing worked.
I’ll test the sensor in Fibaro HC2 as well, but I assumed all would work in HC2, so wanted to iron out the wrinkles in VERA first.
My battery is down to 70%, but assume that’s because I have configured and polled it a lot - normally you’ll throw it under a washing machine and forget about it.
I’ll check it again in the morning and see how it’s behaving.
I don’t think you can delete the second child device - even though it’s not doing anything.
I’ve moved it to another room in VERA just to keep things tidy.
The Trip sensor sends its report on Association Group 2. This does not get picked up in a VERA icon, but it can be used to activate another Z-Wave device by creating the association in the Flood sensor’s ‘Device Settings’ tab. The trip sensor sends an Alarm Command to the associated device.
Hi i have now managed to change the device type on the temp sensor device from the flood sensor. It has now changed from a motion sensor to a temperature sensor but I can’t seem to get any data from the temp sensor.

Any ideas why this happens?

Ok, i got it working now. It turns out i was changing the device parameters for the wrong device. It is the Genereic I/O device that has to change to D_TemperatureSensor1.xml.
The GenericIO device popped up when I added the flood sensor.
But I notice that my temp reading seems to be constantly 29 degrees. I’ll have to do some more debugging…
My sensor is powered from a constant power supply. The sensor is reading constantly 32 degrees and the LED indicator is constant yellow. I have tried resetting the sensor and also excluding and including in Vera. The temperature has changed to 29 degrees but not changing.
I decided to run the sensor on a power supply rather than battery because my battery suddenly stopped working after 2 months.
Can someone help explain and solve this issue for me. After including the Fibaro Flood Sensor to my VeraLite z-wave network, I get the following three modules:
Generic IO with an “On” and “Off” buttons
_Motion Sensor with a battery icon and “Arm” and “Bypass” buttons
_Motion Sensor with “Arm” and “Bypass” buttons
What do these three buttons do?
Which one is for detecting flood and how can the temperature be displayed?
How to change the Device_file from GenericIO to D_TemperatureSensor1.xml and why is this required?
I read all the posts and searched rest of the forum so will appreciate some guidance on the above issue, preferably written for a newbie like me.

Hi, how did you manage to do this? A child device normally can’t be moved and will be placed back to it’s master’s room…
The temperature sensor and flood sensor works. Can I get a Information if the sensor has moved or is this beeping only?
The battery drains very quickly to orange after a few days. I assume it’s because of testing as the detection of water uses a lot of energy compared to idle. Someone can confirm this?
Which is a shame on Vera (as far I know it’s posilbe in HC2). Then one can’t have e.g. an “outside” room with a child (installed inside) connected to it.
But in AutHomationHD you can switch rooms.
Shame on You Micasa, shame…
P.S. Had a little trick of time before I had this issue solved (but only thanks to this tread).
My temp reading seems to be constantly (stuck at?) 28 degrees whilst real temperature is 24 DegC. Anyone having an idea how to solve this issue?

The unit was on mains (12Volts). Nevertheless, I still hit the TMP lever three times without any result. Started from scratch, on now on battery after having first excluded the device followed by a device reset. Same result, flood sensor works OK but the temperature is stuck at 29degC.
Can’t imagine I’m the only one having this problem! Still puzzling what options left which is hard to come by. Fibaro is pointing to Vera.

I just installed my new Fibaro Flood Sensor on my Vera 3 with UI7 1.7.692 (supposed to support the sensor).
I still had to change the Generic IO Device to the correct device_file and device_json to get the temperature sensor working. I’ve attached a screenshot of the correct filenames I had to use. I also made sure to set the category_num value to 17 (temp sensor device). When initially created it was category 11 (generic device).
I also still have the child motion device without the battery level. It has no function whatsoever. It seems like Vera Control, LTD would have fixed this by now…

Changing the device_file and device_json worked to have the temp reported. I had to factory reset the device (or I thought I did) - now although temp is sensing, the battery icon has disappeared (doesn’t show on any of the Fibaro Flood Sensor items, child or parent.
