I’m using Vera lite and a lot of Fibaro dimmers, all good but one annoying issue is that using the physical buttons to dim to lowest level, the Vera GUI shows these as turned off!
I have been playing with all the parameters for lowest dimmer level (13 I think) and also others without success.
It seems to me that it might be a Vera problem not reading the actual dimmer level from Fibaro?
Anyone having the same problem, and if not, why? All my dimmers have exactly the same issue, regardless of load type as LED etc.
I use them and everything is ok.
If I dim from the switch I see this on the screen.
Everything is default here.
Only Variable 14 is 0, because I use a momentary switch.
I’m using the default settings as well, and toggle switches, that’s the differences, strange if that matters.
I have a mix of LED’s, Classic bulbs and Halogen spots, but they all acts the same. Using the toggle buttons to dim to the lowest level, (around 5%) Vera thinks they are turned off.
Its not a big problem, just annoying.
OK; then it’s possible that the dimmer is all the way down to dim level 1. Vera translates this to 0.
To test, you could:
Create a scene that sets the dimmer to 10%, then change it to 2% on the [tt]Advanced[/tt] tab.
Run the scene, by clicking the [tt]Run[/tt] button.
Check the dim level shown by Vera.
Do a manual poll.
Check the dim level shown by Vera.
Change the scene to set the level to 1%
Run the scene, by clicking the [tt]Run[/tt] button.
Check the dim level shown by Vera.
Do a manual poll.
Check the dim level shown by Vera.
You are absolutely correct!, dimmer level 2% shows the correct value in Vera, both before and after polling, while 1% only shows correct before polling, after polling Vera display the device as turned off.
Any workaround for this?
I have also been playing with parameter 13 in the Fibaro dimmer (lowest dimmer level) , to have a lowest dimmer level that suits me, but as a result it only get the other problem worse, and even with a relative high lowest dimmer level its shows as turned off. It seems to be some kind of offset mismatch, means that if I set the min dimmer level to 10% using parameter 13, this will be detected as turned off in Vera.

If I look at the FGD211 manual, it seems to indicate that the device will still accept the full range of dimmer levels, but compress it to the user provided range. Presumably, when reading the dimmer level, it does a reverse mapping.
So Z-Wave level 1 may map to the user-provided minimum level (parameter 13). When reading, with the dimmer at this minimum level, Z-Wave level 1 will be returned by the dimmer, which Vera maps to 0…
