Can someone kingly point me in the direction were I can adjust the lux polling for the Fibaro 3-1 Motion Sensor. I need to increase the polling frequency and I am not sure how to do this in Vera UI7. Thanks!
Should I change the “PollSettings” in the Advanced->>Variables settings? Currently it is set to 10800 which I believe is 3 hours. I would prefer that it is polled in 15 minute intervals. I know that this will drain the battery quicker. Thanks!
I don’t think you need to change that to have the light sensor report more frequently. Actually it will report the lux change quick enough. I used a torch to test it and the lux number changed after several seconds of light density change.
But I have another issue with the lux sensor. Although if I use a torch it can reach 100+ value, I put it on the ceiling of my first floor stair where even during a sunny day has maximum 15lux. But actually when the sensor reads 15lux the light condition is good enough to not let the lights turn on, but the issue is when the light condition is kind of need to turn on lights, the sensor still have about 9-11lux value (not very accurate, sometimes I feel kind of dark but the lux read is still high), which is hard to find a good threshold to determine lights turn on or not.
Is there a way to configure and increase the sensitivity of the lux sensor?
It dawned on me that when I was using Samrtthings that I had to change specific values in the sensor itself and I did that via IDE on the ST developer website. I still have my ST hub but it is not hooked up to anything. I might try and re-establish the hub just so that I can change the specific values if it cannot be done in Vera. Here is the link to the manual.
I believe that parameters 40 and 42 need to be adjusted. If no one can tell how to do it in Vera then I will give it a try in ST. I hope that when I exclude it from ST and include it in Vera that it will not clear the parameters which I believe is the case because I will not be factory resetting the device parameters. But I am not 100% sure about this.
To the best of my knowledge, excluding will clear all previous settings. Sometimes that is the only way to clear some settings.
@pmusselman you can add custom parameter to change the setting on the “device options” menu of the device. Click the Add Configuration Settings to add a new row to set the parameters you need to update. Be sure to click Save Changes when you are done.
