Feature Enhancement Request

… or maybe I just don’t know how to use it(AutHomationHD).

I’d really like for the camera images to be larger, using a greater percentage of the screen. Presently, the image frame isn’t full screen and it consumes a fair bit of real estate and the displayed camera image is very small, even on a large-screen phone.

IMHO, placing the Title and Done button on the same line and eliminating the frame on three sides would make a big difference. The ability to pinch and zoom the picture would also be a huge help though a full screen view would be best.

I realize that this would affect the aesthetic symmetry of the app, but I’d really like to see the camera image as best as possible.

I have been extremely busy and away lately. I will take this into consideration.

+1
that would be a very usefull thing

It just showed up on the last release! It’s awesome – thanks so much for implementing this!

Z-Waver,

Not sure if you are on the beta list, but I released a new beta a few days ago that re-did the camera section of the app. It now incorporates pinch to zoom of the image, camera presets have been added and can be configured in the settings portion of the app, and re-worked the user interface to allow the camera section to use the whole screen.

Let me know how it works out for you,

I’ll get on the beta list!

Thank you for your hard work!

Edit: This ROCKS! Just what I wanted. The best Vera app keeps getting better! Thanks again for your efforts.

I’ll advise if I can break anything, but it’s rock solid so far.

Changing screen orientation(rotating from portrait to landscape or vice versa) causes the image to refresh/reload, which incurs a delay. This refresh also brings back camera controls that were previously dismissed. My expectation is that the image would simple rotate on the screen without changing anything.

I haven’t decided that it’s a “problem”, a refreshing image may be desirable in the absence of streaming video, but right now it is mildly annoying to have to wait for the image and then re-dismiss the camera controls every time the phone’s orientation changes.

Still loving the ability to clearly see details in the camera images.

Z-waver,

I’ll fix the control buttons not saving the state when screen is rotated. As for the image not appearing right away when the screen is rotated, in Android when the screen is rotated, the OS will destroy the current view and it would need to be recreated. I would need to save (cache) the image in order to apply the last image on new screen rotation. I will look into doing this. I am also in the works of implementing a pause / play button to pause the current image and the ability to save the current image as well.
