Fan Speed Control

Hello everyone -

I have a number of these installed in my home:

They are very low current fans. I’d like to control the speed of these fans depending on seasonal and/or HVAC load. I currently just have “manual” low/medium/high speed controls for them and find myself adjusting them on occasion. Enter automation…

The only model switch I can find is the Leviton VRF01 line but they retail for ~$100. I was wondering if there are other options out there that have been used sucessfully.

(The current draw is only .6 amps or so)

Thanks.

Is the existing switch a single button that cycles low, medium, high, off or is it a 4 position switch?

Four position…They are just mounted in the rafters in the basement near each fan.

Here’s the exact model:

yeah, you are limited on options. are you 100% ZWave or do you have insteon set up in your house too?

I know where you are going…there are a few good insteon options. Unfortunately, I’m all Z-Wave (at the moment).

well, that is going to be painful if you try to do more than one!

hopefully there are folks out there that have an option for you.
