One of my first official posts, I promise I have used the search tool as much as possible ;D
I am slowly learning my VeraLite and adding new modules to control my retail store that I am in the process of renovating. So far I’ve mainly added 3 thermostats (4th is a Trane that needs the interface adapter, has to get dry outside before I start taking the unit apart) and several plug in “outdoor” plug-in switches. I am also ready to pop the VeraLite open to install an external high-gain antenna for more system reach in my metal building.
I would like to add control of the 4 banks of ceiling fans that were installed in the showroom by the previous owner. Each switch controls 4 standard (home sized) Hunter fans. Examples on the internet show that each fan should draw approximately .6 amps (see, I told you I could use a search tool)… Therefore, 4 fans should average 4 amps, or less, total per switch.
My dilemma is mounting the switches. Currently, the traditional switches are in a pair of metal gang boxes near the master breaker panel.
Please suggest a non-dimming Z-Wave switch that will most easily fit into the existing gang boxes. I would like 4 switches so that I can control each bank separately. I understand that I will be limited in space “side-by-side” and with switches that wirenut their wires to the premise wiring.
